George's Obituary
George Thomas Huffman passed peacefully on September 11th 2021 in his home in Silverton OR. At the age of 76.
George was born in Colorado Springs Colorado in 1945. After high-school he attended People’s Bible College and in 1967 he signed up for the army and was stationed in San Francisco, CA. It wasn’t long after his arrival in California before he was deployed to VIETNAM for 3 years. While in Vietnam he delivered medical supplies and gained the rank of Sargent E5. He was awarded the Bronze Star for carrying out duties exceptionally.
George managed to see every state but, Maine. He drove some of the most difficult roads America and Canada have to offer, including the Ice Road. It was the Ice Road in Alaska where he was given the nickname Artic Handlebar, credit goes to his contest-winning mustache, which reached the length of 16 inches from the middle of his nos…
